How it Works

Four Easy Steps...

Step 1. Fill out the quick and easy

Custom Watch Inquiry form.

There is no obligation to start - no credit card needed.

Your inspiration might be:

• A person, anniversary, car, hobby, place or artwork

Describe your idea, share photographs, sketches, artwork, or other inspiration.

Step 2. I'll Develop the Concept

I'll develop a custom watch concept image showing the overall design idea.  Depending on the project, the concept may include:

• Dial design: I specialize in custom laser engraved dials, sandwich style dials, and painted dials)

• Case style and size

• Hands

• Crown

• Movement: Mechanical movements *ETA® 2824 -2 & equivalents, *Seiko® NH35/36 & equivalents.  Seiko® quartz VH31 & equivalents.

• Materials

• Colors and finishes

• Strap or bracelet

• Case-back details: Laser Engrave

I'll review your idea and reach out via email or phone to discuss the project and anything that's important to you.

 

​This conversation also gives me a chance to determine what's practical to build and provide an initial estimate.

Step 3. Refine the Design & Approve the Design

After the initial review I'll make the final adjustments where needed. This is your opportunity to provide feedback before the watch is built.  You will receive a final concept image for approval.
 

You'll approve the final design.  Make your deposit payment of 50% of the final price. Then the watch moves from an idea into a real project.

Step 4.  Production, Final Testing, and Delivery

I'll begin building your watch.  Because these watches are build to a custom order, turn around time is four to six weeks to ship. You will receive weekly status emails on the building stages of your custom watch.

 

Depending on the design, this may involve:

• Creating the custom dial

• Producing or sourcing components

• Finishing components

• Engraving

• Assembly

• Regulation

• Testing

• Final inspection

 

Because every custom watch is different, the exact process will vary from project to project.

Once finish and the final invoice is paid, Your custom timepiece is carefully packaged and shipped to you.  You'll receive a shipping status update.

 

You'll receive a watch that was designed specifically for you.

 

FAQ

 

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

No. You can come to me with a general idea, inspiration, or even just a story. Part of the process is helping turn that idea into a workable watch design.

Can you use an existing watch as inspiration?

Absolutely. You can provide photographs or examples of watches, objects, artwork, colors, or anything else that helps communicate your vision. The goal is to develop an original design rather than simply copy an existing watch.

Can I provide my own artwork?

Yes, provided you have the rights to use it. We can discuss how the artwork could be incorporated into the dial or other parts of the watch.

Can you make a custom dial for a watch I already own?

Possibly - depending on specs. Semi-Custom dial projects are available separately.  Learn About Semi-Custom Dials

How many watches do you make?

Custom watches are generally one-of-a-kind commissions. Separately, I occasionally release limited runs of my own original designs.

​

Do you make Seiko®  or G-Shock®  mods?

I only offer Seiko® mod services paired with a custom dial design or custom engraving. I currently only do Custom Casioak mods for G-Shock®  2100 series.​
